Ferret Finger - 1
Arnstein is a member of a very select club, not only is he fairly unique in that he is a Norwegian who owns a Ferret, but he has also now become a member of the "Ferret Finger Club". The Ferret was well known for it's ability to sever fingers that got in the way of hatches. Arnstein got off relatively lightly as it was just the end of his finger and did not involve loss of bone as has happened in many cases. In my case, it was a shattered bone, but luckily without loss of finger!
Below is Arnstein's comments:
I had Hubert (the name of Arnstein's Ferret) at the local air show, and kids were crawling all over it. I was getting up on it to close up the top hatch. Climbed up front right, put my hand on the hatch, and smack. Heard it, saw it, but felt nothing. Only when I noticed the front of my finger was red and very bloody did I realize something was wrong. Was thrown in a car and off we went to the first aid station. Got bandaged up, and back to Hubert. Found the missing bit of finger stuck on the hatch. After the day was over I drove Hubert home, about 20 mins drive. A bit difficult with only one hand.
Damn thing took months to heal up.
I thought Norway was supposed to be cold? (Doug)
Hubert as first aquired by a dealer on Arnstein's behalf for restoration: as a "restorable vehicle".
As Arnstein says "never buy anything that you do not inspect in person and NEVER trust anyone".
My thanks to Arnstein Tran°y of Norway.
