Folowing the email discussion below, I have
uploaded the EMER that covers how to do the gearbox adjustment. This
assumes you are having slippage problems, that you have tried the
30-pedal-pumps-in-each-gear remedy and are still having problems.
Note that I have never got around to making up the "special tool",
but I would recommend that you do it rather than use the "over centre"
method.
The scans below are quite big in order that they will print out
properly, so be patient!

There is a set of adjustments in an EMER that are a last resort before
pulling the gearbox and replacing the bands (even if you do a pull, you
still need the correct EMER in order to get everything set up properly).
It gives instructions for doing it using the inevitable "special tool"
but it also gives a field adjustment using a technique called "over
centre". The latter is how mine was done as I was receiving the
instructions, at night, over the telephone, long distance, whilst
jumping in and out of my Ferret.
At that time, the internet was merely a plaything of nerds
using Unix commands and the bloke who had the EMER had the only known
copy in civilian hands in Australia and wasn't about to photocopy it
even if I paid whatever he felt like charging.
(Another one of those egomaniacs that wants to control everyone and
everything and thus be the "Guru" in that particular hobby.)
I stress that if you get inside the gearbox and start fiddling, you
will stuff it up! You MUST have the instructions to get it right.
I now have hardcopy of most EMERs so if you need anything, get in
