Free - ASCII email signatures.
The idea of ASCII email signatures has been around for ages and is quite popular on Mil-Veh-List. I adapted a Jeep one into a Ferret and a Greyhound for myself a few years back and then later an M20 and an M5A1 for a fellow list member. Then forgot all about it. Recently I received a whole set of Ferret one from Ryan in the USA, which he is happy for anyone to use (see instructions below).
In order for these to turn out correctly, your email font must be set to "fixed width" in your preferences settings. If it is set on "variable width font", your vehicle image will look like it has run over a mine......
If you do this and then receive the odd message saying that your signature vehicle is all distorted, then the person at the other end is probably using one of the more flexible email programs and have their settings for incoming emails set to "variable width font" - nothing you can do about it.
At the bottom of the main page of this website is my M8 Greyhound vehicle image. This is the way it should appear in emails also.
To append it to all your emails automatically you will also need to set it as the default signature file in your email preferences. To do so, copy and paste the image to a text file (say Notepad.exe in Windows 95/98) save it somewhere obvious and give it an obvious name eg M8draw.txt.
Then put that location into your preferences in your email program eg C:\mystuff\M8draw.txt.
There after, ALL your emails will have the image attached. Should you be emailing someone who may not appreciate your hobby, then I suggest you remember to delete the image off the bottom of your email before sending it!

My thanks to Ryan for the detailed Ferrets.
