A Mystery Helmet

Can you identify this Helmet?

The picture below is of what appears at first glance to be an AVC Helmet, but when you take a closer look you can see detail differences.

Such as:
- 5 press studs on the leather cheek pieces,
- Velcro over the forard area, where something attaches.
- Firm padding inside.
- Large slotted bolts along sides.
- Pivot/attachment point at lower front sides.

The most noticeable of these being what appears to be a leather suspension liner instead of the normal "mesh and padding".

The helmet was offered on ebay and no details were provided. I cannot follow up on where it came from or who bought it.

Can you offer any suggestions?

I am a former U.S. Army Armor Officer. Great Site. The answer to Mystery #3- Standard AVC Helmet. mid-1980s. It is setup to us "MILES" training system. It has a harness equiped W/Lazer sensors. When struck by a lazer, an alarm sounds to let you know you're a casualty. Vehicles and personel had receivers. Rifles to Main Guns, Dragons to TOW launchers were fitted w/emmiters. Lazer tag for the Army. Pretty Cool.
