Cambrai Day.
(Ver 1)
Cambrai Day commemorates the first time tanks were used in battle en masse , at Cambrai in France, on November 20,1917....376 Allied tanks smashed the German lines to pieces. The RSM of 1st Armoured Regiment, a fellow football umpire, invited us to participate. The Ferret, with Geoff as driver, and Owen as gunner/observer, led the VIP's onto the parade. The RSM kindly allowed the Regiment's electrician loose on the Ferret, and he fixed up a minor problem with the regulator. Another parade in two week's time, with the farewell for the O.C. of 5/7 Mechanised Infantry. It's all go!!!
